2012 is declared as a year of solidarity of generations and activeness of the elders within Europe. One of the possibilities to pursue these goals is a chance to participate in LLP Grundtvig Senior Volunteering projects .We are U3A joining a big number of seniors who for various reasons lost their active role in job market but do not want to be isolated from everyday life and have energy enough to be beneficial for their country and EU.The “Active Every Day” (AED) project run by Lithuanian and Italian partners comprises exchange and activities of volunteers in natural environment of infrastructural areas (national parks, botanical gardens etc.) in both countries.Volunteering as one of informal forms of learning as well as self-education (Do and Learn) will renew and enrich their knowledge and experience in ecology. Joint activities will enable volunteers to enrich their skills of foreign languages, to know better people of different cultures and to strengthen national, cultural and social ties between people of two European countries.Volunteering experience recorded in pictures, IT, and stories told by volunteers will encourage other seniors to join volunteering organizations in order to feel less socially excluded, to change their life from passive to active and to feel the support of EU for the seniors.Exchange of volunteers between both organizations of similar profiles will enable to exchange good practises in organizing activities for the seniors and involve younger generation in these activities.
