"Acting Locally - Youth Involvement in Local Development" is a mobility project that involves 21 youth leaders from European countries as Italy, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia, France and Portugal, with three participants from each country.
This study visit lasts for eight days, from 24 November of 2015 to 1 December of 2015, and will be developed in the Santarém district.
This project stems from the normal activity of Covaltas association and its partners, to seek to involvement of young people associated in the local development process starting from the knowledge of new realities, exchange of experience and information at European level.
This project has as main objectives:
1) Promoting local development taking into account the participation of associations and the important role they play and the involvement of youth in the development process;
2) Identify and disseminate good practices following a logic of sharing experiences and identifying new methods of work with youth, to encourage entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation and thus promote local development;
To ensure the effectiveness of the project, we will promote three visits to youth associations of the district of Santarém, to know firsthand the work and projects developed by them, under the project theme; 2 visits to other entities other than being associations play an important role regarding the promotion of local development; 3 Visits to case studies (examples) of local development successfully promoted by young people; - Recreational and educational moments of intercultural sharing and 1 Workshop on working methods for promoting youth entrepreneurship;
In our view, considering the assumptions taken by the European Commission with regard to this issue, there is a pressing conduct such actions with local communities in general and among youth leaders, in particular, in order to ensure participation active and shared by young people in local development.
