PACMAn aims at stimulating the innovative&dynamic capacities of the agrofood sector in MED regions able to promote its attractiveness & competitiveness at transnational level.Through collaboration between transnational economic development actors&public authorities engaged in growth & innovation issues, PACMAn will focus on key factors of agro-food clusters in MED areas, in light of the latest economic changes & trends, and will implement pilot actions which, coupled with a shared joint analysis & networking, will provide new horizontal solutions to the cluster criticalities & inputs for elaboration of integrated policies, territorial marketing & a sustainable innovative model to support agrofood sector expansion at international level Achievements: State of the art of project implementation since the project startAgro-food chain in the MED Area is mainly made up of SMEs who need to face global challenges concerning innovation, internationalization and sustainability.PACMAn intends to support agro-food SMEs and their enabling environment by increasing awareness of strengths and criticalities and enhancing networking activities.A shared mapping of the agro-food sectors and segments was the first step to start analysis and collaboration.Strategic segments for any region were identified by analyzing their key factors of competitiveness.Direct involvement of agro-food companies and organizations in focus groups started to identify the criticalities of the sector.A MED agro-food database to support networking is online-391entries.Ongoing pilot actions are to provide Joint participation in international events, Model of governance, Recommendations on sustainability, Catalogue of innovative solutions.Interprofessional agreements and territorial marketing actions are being carried out.All documents are available on www.pacmanproject.euLatest project activities and outputswww.pacmanproject.eu was improved and updated e-newsletters n.8&9/2012 and 10/2013 published Facebook page fed and updated. As far as technical actions were concerned the main outputs are available on the project website http://www.pacmanproject.eu/page/project-documents/index.asp all actions of Component 3 were performed and final outputs achieved and available online. These are the basis of the ongoing actions of component 4 for the elaboration of the Report on Recommendations for a Sustainable innovative model of Med Agro-food cluster (C.4.1), for the 4 pilot actions: Setting up of an Hand e-book on food green packaging in the MED Area-, -Establishing a trans-national marketing cluster based on the «Authentic Mediterranean» concept-, creation of a -Catalogue of Innovative Technologies in the Agro-food Sector-, -Model of Governance of Med Agro-food Supply Chain- (C.4.2) and for action 4.3 were a e-book a e-guide and gis tools and maps will be produced.Next key steps for the projectPACMAn next steps aim at finalising and implementing the 4 pilot actions in the segments identified, feeding the online database encouraging networking and permitting to test the feasibility of transnational supply chains and working on sustainable model. Next steps: skype conference March 2013, next E-Newsletters, final meeting and 3rd international conference in Bologna - IT on 18&19 Sept.2013, project brochure, production of e-guide, e-book and gistools&maps and report on sustainable model.
