As Bilinç Health Vocational College, we applied the patient and elderly care training in 2014 project application period to carry out in Germany in 2015. We aimed 40 students (both boys and girls) of nursing health professions high school in the eleventh class to do their internships on patient and elderly care training. Our objectives were as follows: professional and personal development in the field of participants, improvement of practical skills, learning about standards and qualifications in Germany and European Union members countries, to develop foreign language skills, to learn social and cultural life of the community in Germany, transferring of innovative practices and methods to our school, increase the quality of education, improving cooperation between our Project partners, the dissemination of the resulting gains in local, regional, national and international level. We signed a contract with the national agency on 25 December 2015. We planned our Project as 3 periods: preparatory period, mobility period and dissemination period. 1-Preparatory Period: We selected our students in accordance with fair criteria, prepared these students using of foreign language, psychological and vocational means, preparation of passports, signing of the learning agreement. 2- Mobility Period: Between June 15th and August 21st, 4 teachers and 40 students were alternately perform the internship in Berlin, in Germany. 3- Dissemination Period: Our goals are to make visible our Project, to share with other people. (to create multiplier effect) We realized mobility to Berlin in June, July August into groups of ten people in 2015. Participants who will do internships were placed to Friedrich Küter Pflegewohnpark business by our host partner TUH (Turkische Unternehmer Handwerker e.v. Berlin) TUH and Friedrich Küter Pflegewohnpark assigned on expert staff for each group. Also as the Project owner we assigned an accompanying teacher for each group. All participants were observed continuously by three person expert staff. In order to ensure maximum benefit from internships; we created shift of participants. Participants have practiced on basic maintenance to the sick and elderly, medical care and social services. During the internship students have done the following applications: feeding according to diseases, food to feed patients, Daily activity and exercise, mental exercises, maintain body mechanics, making positions and lifting, intervene in exceptional situations, keep track of medications, communication with elderly patients, elderly baht, feeding, sanitation, bladder catheterization, nasogastric, lavage and gavage applications, oxygen therapy, blood products and blood transfusions, parenteral drug applications, wound care, Wrap types, dressings, antisepsis techniques, care to per enema, give duck and slide, hot and cold application techniques, vital signs monitoring, patient hygiene, occupational therapy, pulse and blood pressure control, blood sugar measuring, psychosocial rehabilitation, etc. We believe we have achieved these results with Project: -Professional competence of the participants are increased. The probability of employment is increased. Each student took euro pass mobility certificate and we believe that this certificate helps them to find a job easily. -Students increased information about the European Union standards on the sick and elderly care. -They will understand better work life so they easily pass from school to work. -They have knowledge about German?s history, cultural values and social life. -They developed their foreign language skills. -We started the Project sustainable cooperation between participating institutions. Both our host partner TUH?s and our internship Friedrich Küter Pflegewohnpark in Berlin?s managers said they wanted to work together on new projects. They also said our students can work in their institution if they want but they want better German. -Innovative applications can be transferred to our school has contributed to the enhancement of quality in vocational training. We held a press conference to share knowledge and experience acquired by our students with other students and parents. Each group who has gone to Germany has its own presentation. We also prepared a press release introducing the Project. Our project was published in many newspapers and broadcasters. We also send all the news and pictures about the Project to the Berlin Embassy from our school?s website.
