The „Once upon a time…today” project is a multilateral Youth Exchange project within the Erasmus+ framework that will take place in Sabbioneta, Italy. The project aims to bring forward innovation in the personal development of young people, helping them acquire needed life skills as an European citizen with rights and responsibilities. Based on the themes of European Awareness and Art &Culture, the project revolves around three major objectives:
- to raise awareness of young people as active European citizens involved in the community life and democratic life of their countries and Europe in general
- to cultivate life skills and positive attitudes through cultural dialogue
- to encourage creativity and entrepreneurship initiatives amongst young people
Thus, in the 7 days of Activity, 40 participants, aged 18 - 25, from 5 countries (Italy, Romania, Portugal, France and Sweden) will explore various concepts (European citizenship, creativity & Entrepreneurship, Renaissance culture)and develop themselves throughout the Activity, exchanging ideas and finding common grounds of cooperation. During the activity ,there are to be used a wide range of non formal education tools and methods (simulation, debate, teambuilding, role-play, creation) at their best in order to guide young people to get to know their Europe, compare it with the one from Renaissance times, and extract common values.
During the activity international groups will take part in various types of workshops concerning European citizenship-rights, benefits and responsibilities, cultural expressions of the Renaissance times (clothing, dances, music and crafts), life simulation game and workshops on creativity and entrepreneurship skills.
Participants will undergo a process of experimentation and reflection that will affect positively their perception about the European Union, becoming more active citizens of their community and the European one, will have developed their creativity and entrepreneurial skills and generally have a better understanding of their person in the European context, as citizens with right and responsibilities.
