The project of development of cultural tourism „RIVIERA = Portorož Riviera and Opatija Riviera supports cross-border cooperation and development of common destination “RIVIERA” with one of the longest tradition of organised tourism in Europe. It enables the partners form a developmental and marketing platform for more focused, attractive and competitive positioning of the destination “RIVIERA” on the European market. It enables establishing all strategic, developmental, marketing and operating documents, marketing tools, organisational platform and program formations needed for development and marketing of integral tourism product cultural tourism “RIVIERA”. Expected Results: Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation are to develop an attractive and competitive integral tourist product cultural tourism RIVIERA” that improves recognisability of the area and becomes generator of tourist arrivals onto the destination 365 days a year; to develop 6 sub products of cultural tourism and to develop 10 crossborder programs for promotion of cultural tourism events; to carry out a new cross-border image cultural event “RIVIERA across centuries”; to form a professional organisation plan and common marketing platform for marketing cultural tourism “RIVIERA”; to prepare and launch the main marketing infrastructure tools (brochure, internet); to incorporate and educate all key stakeholders from public, private and civil sector for forming, marketing and implementing the integral tourism product cultural tourism “RIVIERA”.
