About Me

APEFDP - Association of Physical Education and Sports Professionals of Porto is a non-profit association that seeks to encourage the implementation of actions and measures to promote physical education and sport, through interactions with municipalities, associations, sport agents, schools, clubs and private and public bodies, within the community, by promoting training for teachers and sport coaches, awareness, sports debate, daily exercise and physical activity as well, as high performance, through the provision of technical, human and financial resources.
As training entity accredited by Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, has been developing in recent years an important role in training for and through sport, not only among its members but also of a vast sporting and educational community. Fully framed in a “sport for all” policy, our association now has the ambition to broaden its horizons to the population in general and those for which sport represents an opportunity inclusion and social integration. Furthermore, it also promotes, the preservation of ethics in
sport, sport diplomacy, fight against Racism, xenophobia, and violence through sport as one of the several essential scopes of our organization.
The sport innovation, match fixing, doping and dual career are also areas that we are involved in collaboration with public or private institutions or providing and participating in studies and research on sport participation indicators and on the different factors for the development of physical activity and sport.
We have a great network of partners and stakeholders involving, for example the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, European Physical Education Association, Municipalities, Schools, Sport Federations and Associations, among others.
