The project titled "Passion for Inclusion" (Project-ID: 2021-1-DE02-KA220-ADU-000035138) was created to address the pervasive neglect of sexual education for individuals with an intellectual disability. The idea was to publish accessible information on sexual education adapted to the needs of individuals with an intellectual disability for people with an intellectual disability and the main educators for people with a disability: their teachers and parents. The consortium of the project consisted of CERA from Turkey, CEIPES from Italy, SCP from Romania, and ARSU as coordinator from Germany.

This project had the following three main intellectual outputs which were published in six different languages (English, German, Romanian, Italian, Turkish, and Spanish):

In the first intellectual output (IO-1), we created a needs analysis study which teachers and parents of people with a disability from the four partner countries answered. With these answers, we created a benchmark report, which laid the groundwork for the educational content we created afterwards. We did this to ensure that the educational material would allign with the needs of our target groups.

In the second intellectual output (IO-2), we created an sexual education toolkits, each tailored to a key actor in sexual education, including special education teachers/guidance teachers/sub-teachers, parents of individuals with an intellectual disability, and individuals with an intellectual disability (for this group, we created a visual training tool).

In the thirld intellectual output (IO-3), we created an e-learning platform and a mobile app to be used by people with an intellectual disability as well as their parents and teachers. This made the educational material accessible for everyone, facilitated web-based distance education, and enabled the sexual education to take place not only in a formal educational environment but also at home.

Through this project, the participants understood the importance of sexual education. Furthermore, the educational content was disseminated internationally, which allowed for a large audience to be reached and people with an intellectual disability all over Europe to gain access to quality sexual education. In this way, awareness was hightened and a step towards a more open and inclusive society was taken.
