We are developing fermentation processes based on GRAS microorganisms in order to produce biosurfactants (BioFs). Several families of BioFs can be obtained: glycolipids and lipopeptides being the most studied species. BioFs are biocompatible, non-toxic, biodegradable. Cosmetic applications are numerous (toothpaste, antiwrinkle, antiaging, etc.). BioFs exhibit antimicrobial properties and can be use as adjuvants for improving antibiotic action. In agriculture, BioFs can be use for soil remediation (removal of heavy metals) and for plant pest control. For Pharma applications, BioFs have been recognized to modulate cell immune response and differentiation and signal transduction with potential adjuvant properties in cancer therapeutics. We are looking for academic and SME partnerships.
