The main target of the concept is to create a partnership with touristic stakeholders from partner countries to establish an international platform for capacity building and developing a digital and AI-operated Destination Facility System, as an IT tool, ensuring a more competitive structure in managing touristic areas.
During the project lifetime, we intend to implement various types of project activities, such as international best practice visits, local-level training and dissemination events, elaboration of strategic documents, or pilot testing activities.
The core project concept can be summarized with the following points (this is just a basic recommendation, activities can be adjusted to your needs):
the main objective is to strengthen tourism in less developed areas by creating an innovative IT solution (a prototype) with AI (artificial intelligence) with a special focus on cultural heritage and tourism
the AI solution will be developed and pilot-tested as an end-product of the project (coordination will be done by SZTAKI, a Hungarian academic partner)
besides IT development and pilot tests, the following activities will be organized:
study visits and best practice observations in rural tourism promotion
local workshops focusing on using IT solutions in tourism
elaboration of thematic strategies and action plans
capacity-building of local-level touristic stakeholders
Based on your previous positive confirmation, the partnership is constituted by the following organizations:
Bakony Charta Territorial Development Association (lead partner – Hungary)
Computing and Automation Research Institute SZTAKI (Hungary)
Public Institution for the Development of Međimurje County REDEA (Croatia)
Murska Sobota Development Center RCMS (Slovenia)
University of Mostar UM (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
We are looking for partners from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
