In many isolated and marginalized areas across Europe, abandoned spaces are a common sight. These neglected areas not only detract from the aesthetic value of the community but also represent lost opportunities for social and economic development. The disuse of these spaces can lead to further marginalization of communities, perpetuating cycles of poverty, social exclusion, and economic stagnation. Engaging local communities in the regeneration of these spaces can serve as a powerful tool to address these challenges, fostering social cohesion, economic revitalization, and a sense of community ownership.
This project aims to address the underutilization and neglect of abandoned spaces in isolated and marginalized areas. These spaces represent untapped potential for community development, social cohesion, and economic revitalization. Engaging local communities in the co-design and co-creation of these spaces can transform them into vibrant, functional areas, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment among residents.
