We have strengthened the European dimension of our school and improved our teachers' intercultural skills and their skills in the area of managing European projects.
Internationally we have partnered with schools and other educational institutions, concurrently we have motivated our professional workers to engage in projects. To meet these objectives, it was necessary to educate great many of our teachers in the field of managerial skills and intercultural integration, to enable them to carry out the projects and motivate as many students as possible. This has helped the students to develop into open European citizens ready to enter the European labour market where multiculturalism and openness are very important.
The teachers have acquired the knowledge at seminars of intercultural training and training in management areas. It is important that our teachers attend the training along with teachers from other countries, so that intercultural education itself is not only the context of the educational part of the seminar but also proceeds throughout the whole seminar. At the same time we met potential partners in new projects.
Concidering the perceived needs in the surroundings, according to the strategic orientations of Slovenia and the European Union, we have taken care of the quality functioning of the entire organization in various fields and care for development of the employees, new programmes have been developed, new methods and forms of work have been introduced, coordination at the local, national and international level has been enhanced.
Objectives of the project:
We have improved intercultural skills and knowledge in the field of project management.
Our teachers:
Were willing to participate in seminars abroad,
Had sufficient language skills,
Were willing to spread the European idea among colleagues and students,
Were prepared to include the European idea in their learning process,
In accordance with the development plan of the organization and the consequent need provided professional training for other employees.
Description of the measure:
Participation in the international training "Project management for cross-cultural exchange projects in Europe" and project of professional training in specific areas.
Achieved results:
Experiences of the training have increased intercultural cooperation and intercultural education, school work on European projects is more effective.
The training enabled the participants to inspire their colleagues to take part in European projects and use them as a means of disseminating the students' language, intercultural and social competences.
We have improved language and social skills, the ICT skills of the teachers and students, introduced some new methods and teaching techniques, introduced new contents in the educational process, improved the knowledge of the partner country and its culture, improved collaboration with colleagues, partners and partner institutions, increased the number of study areas and teachers involved, improved cooperation among teachers at school and in the wider region, expanded the European dimension at school, modernized and upgraded the pedagogical and didactic approaches, increased parental involvement, ensured the quality of the educational process, established long-term cooperation with partners.
Darja Ravnik is an art teacher. She has been the Headteacher at our primary school for six years.
Maja Olup is employed as a librarian, but her basic education is a political scientist.
Irena Pečovnik is a special educator. She is interested in functioning of the Erasmus+ projects, familiarization with good practices at other schools and finding contacts of partner schools.
Tadej Kolar is a computer expert-organizer of information activities. He is a coordinator of the Erasmus+ projects.
Darinka Gilčvert Berdnik is a biology teacher at primary school and high school. She is a councillor and a member of the National Education Institute Slovenia.
Lidija Bombek is a biology and chemistry teacher.
