The objective of the project was to update knowledge of our language teachers in the field of vocational topics they teach in their English lessons. Three participants created a study material which will help our students prepare for the school leaving examination, concretely for the third part of the oral exam in English. It consists of nine chapters which cover needs of the six branches of study at our school. We are planning to make use of it as a study material for third grade students who, according to the school teaching plan, learn these topics. The material is binding and will become a unique tool for all our English teachers as it will contribute to unification of students' language skills for the school leaving examination.
To achieve this objective three English language teachers were chosen to take part in the Erasmus+ courses to deepen their knowledge of the vocational topics and to learn about new teaching methods and improve their level of English. Except for these three Mobility courses, another teacher had an opportunity of job-shadowing foreign vocational English professionals in order to compare their vocational English teaching with lessons at our school.
The teaching material, as the main output, will be useful not only for teaching English, but the nursing school will benefit from the correct usage of English terminology when cooperating with other nursing high schools joined in the activities of Erasmus+.Therefore, we consider our project important for the future development and long-term strategy of our school.
