Start date: Jul 18, 2014, End date: Jul 17, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The ongoing process of an increasingly interconnected, common European labor market, leads to major economic, political and cultural changes. Schools need to find an appropriate response to meet the challenges of our time. In order to do so, our school decided to focus on Europe on various levels, ranging from European projects to changes with regard to the curriculum, from e-Twinning to our entrepreneur project in cooperation with our local partners. To do so successfully, a throrough profienciency in the field of project management is required. Modernizing our school, it is our ambition to prepare both our students and our staff for the challenges and chances of a common European market: We want to improve their foreign language skills, we want to raise intercultural awareness which is crucial when cooperating on a transnational level and we want to stress the importance of cross-European mobility by allowing our students to gain study experiences abroad. In short: it’s our intention to efficiently combine both the world of education and the world of work. To be able to initiate our own “master plan Europe” at our school and to keep it alive in the long run, our school needs to gain proficiency in project management. Not only will we be able to learn more about the way to organize multicultural projects in Europe or how to motivate the entire staff in supporting us in our ambitions, but we are also aware that our colleagues might already find some project partners. Networking and the mutual exchange of ideas and experience is a further positive side effect we might profit from. Based on our strategic plans for the nearer future, both the school’s principle and our “coordinator of European affairs” wish to take part in the structured course on project management in Porto. Being outgoing and fluent in at least two European languages, we hope that the course will help us on the way to a modernized European school, a school that indeed efficiently combines both the world of education and the world of work.
