During two years 40 students are going to Great Britain for vocational training. Two groups will consist of students of the technical college of the hospitality industry and of the catering industry technical college. There will be students of the second and third class at the age of 17 and 18. The dates of internship - from 14.02.2016 to 05.03.2016 and from 03.07.2016 to 23.07.2016. The students are going to be trained according to the programme for specific profession. Key issues for the hotel industry students are connected with the methods of guest service at the hotel, e.g. by means of direct communication, getting knowledge about modern systems of reservation, check-in and check-out procedures, room service methods and fulfilment of duties on the different floors at the hotel. For the students of catering industry the main aim is to get special vocational competences concerning techniques of food preparation and serving, especially meals from other countries. Students want to know working methods and principles of special events preparation, master skills of cooperation in multicultural environment. Work expierience will enable them to know principles of hotels and restaurants working on European market. Work experience, new professional competences and language skills will prepare youth for getting a job in our country and abroad, improve their attractiveness on the job market. Hospitality and catering are prospective branches where students can find employment. One of the priorities of lodzkie region development is tourism expansion and building modern hotel chains. Hotel and catering workers should know Polish and foreign guests customs and be able to attend to different types of guests and customers. The main goal of the project is to improve the quality of the vocational training, broaden the knowledge, skills and professional competences, making easier to start professional career of future hotel and catering workers. The students will get Europass Mobility Certificate confirming skills and competences they acquired with exact description of educational path. Subsidiary goals are: putting knowledge into practice, to know modern standards and European traditions in the field of hotel and catering services, hotel and catering objects structures, regulations and work organisation, culture and traditions of another country, to adapt to life and work conditions in European countries, support of personal development, knowledge of food preparation techniques, hotel guest service and customer service and development of language skills and intercultural consciousness. Expected results are following: the students get work experience and know work prospects abroad, can use knowledge in practice and work in a team, skilfully use English, know and use professional terms, pass vocational exams well, are active on the job market, find job and work according to the highest standards, have knowledge that enable them to start their own business, they are independent, creative and tolerant, adapt to new conditions fast. The cooperation between school and foreign partner helps get experience in internships preparation. The realisation of the project is the source of valuable experience for teachers engaged in training preparation and realisation. They can initiate innovative measures in our school to cultivate the educational process. The project is also the form of promoting our country, language and culture. Forty students will get international certificate that improves the transparency of qualifications they got. Dissemination of the project results will rivet international cooperation connected with vocational training abroad. Young people can transfer their skills into Polish market. Vocational training in British hotels and restaurants means they learn in the best place. Vocational education in our school is improving and that helps us to establish very good position in local educational area and lodzkie region educational area. Vocational training abroad makes our school educational offer very attractive and influences the future students decision to start their education at our technical college.
