Through peace journalism people get a chance to share their realities, daily challenges, problems and joys with the others without any hidden agenda. By using media tools - video, photography, audio - the people can share these small stories with their peers but also with wide publics, bringing attention to the topics that are usually hidden, showing unexpected perspectives and calling for action leading to a social change. "Peace Workers Daily Show" is an international training course for 35 youth workers and youth leaders from Norway, Czech republic, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Greece and Bulgaria that will take place in Brno, Czech republic and Razlog Bulgaria. During 2phase project the participants explore the principles and practices of Peace Journalism - a powerful tool which gives voice to the views of all rival parties, from all levels and offers inventive ideas for conflict resolution, development, peacemaking and peacekeeping media products.The main aim of the training course is to explore methods of citizen journalism and Backpack Journalism as a tool in youth work, mainly in the communities of young people with fewer opportunities and to inspire and motivate the youth workers and youth leaders to use peace journalism in their local youth work. During the project the participants will have an opportunity to learn about the concept of Backpack and peace journalism. With help of experienced trainers and experts from Norway Czech Republic and turkey they will try to be a backpack peace journalists themselves, they will practice interviewing people, finding out and telling their stories using various media tools. At the end they will develop the competences necessary for mentoring other young people and helping them to analyze their own life stories, as well as conflicts in their community through the lens of peace journalism lenses. One of the objectives of the project will be to create an international strategic partnership that will develop the methodology of backpack peace journalism as a tool for other youth organizations interested in use of media in their local youth work.The program will include theoretical inputs and practical workshops, discussions, group processes and individual work. The approach will develop participants’ skills, knowledge and attitudes towards the peace journalism as a way to give young people a voice, develop their critical thinking and media literacy, to combat stereotypes and influence their social reality. The methods of non-formal education and experiential learning will be used and the participants will have a chance to develop their competences in learning-by-doing activities.
