YW - Ensuring real participation and cooperation on the local level

Training course will bring 30 youth workers, specialists working with youth in various institutions at county and municipal level (local level) from 5 countries from 13th to 19th of August, 2016 in Druskininkai, Lithuania. Project will create space to (1) reflect on what is real and sustainable civic participation, (2) to learn to identify common goals and to cooperate developing cross-sectorial cooperation networks and (3)improving youth friendliness of policies and services pertaining to youth at the local level. Project will provide space to share youth situation and youth policy implementation good practices in various European countries - from Portugal to Norway, to Turkey. AIMS OF THE TRAINING COURSE:To develop competences (skills, knowledge and attitudes) and provide tools to youth workers and specialist dealing with youth issues how to create participatory decision-making platforms and attitudes, to foster and implement cross-sectorial cooperation and create cooperation structures in their realities at local level. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING COURSE:1. Provide participants with deeper understanding of youth, youth issues and needs, youth age psychology;2. Develop competences to create participatory decision-making platforms and attitudes, share tools and good practices related to participation;3. Share methods of youth empowerment, involvement, create online recognition tool- Badge "#AgentOfParticipation; 3. Learn how to use tools to analyze youth situation and realities at local level, create improvement plans;4. Share and develop tools for cross-sectorial cooperation and know good examples from different countries in Europe.5. Build capacity of local level youth policy stakeholders to develop strategic youth policy development plans and cooperation frameworks;6. Create space to develop future actions / project at local and international level aiming to foster cooperation in the youth policy field and improve youth situation. Promote Erasmus + program.During this training course, county & municipal specialist on youth issues (civil servants) and youth representatives, youth workers from Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey and Portugal will improve their competencies in following areas: participation, participatory decision-making, cross-sectorial cooperation, developing local youth policy, researching youth situation, advocacy and effective representation; will get acquainted with the national and European youth policy frameworks and opportunities they provide; will expand international network and learn how to build alliances around different issues; will improve communication and advocacy; public speaking and media work competencies; will share and learn individually and in the group; will find instruments to bring needed changes to improve youth situation and level of cooperation in their municipalities.
