The " Youth4work " is a youth exchange project with neighboring partner countries of the EU, which will last a total of six months, from 01/05/2016 to 30/10/2016. The mere youth exchange will be carried out in Rogoznica (Croatia, Sibenik-Knin County) in the period from 1th till 10th July 2016. The organizer of the exchange is Forum za kvalitetno udomiteljstvo djece - Udomitelji za djecu and partner organizations SOS Social Centre „Hermann Gmeiner“ from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Crveni krst Sombor from Serbia.The main theme of the project is Labour market issues incl. career guidance / youth unemployment. The primary objective of the project is fostering employability of youth with fewer opportunities.Specific objectives are:1. Identifying opportunities for employment and self-employment of young people, fostering it and empowering youth to exploit these opportunities2. Encouraging the acquisition of skills important for the success in the labor market - communication skills, skills of writing CV, learnin techniques of a successful job interview3. Engaging youth in social entrepreneurship and the development of ideas for projects that could be implemented in their communities4. Encouraging the development of interests among young people and encouraging the continuation and completion of educiation5. Encouraging young people to volunteer and actively involve in their communities6. Intercultural learning and the spread of social networks and mutual support among young peopleParticipants in youth exchanges are young people without parental care, young people from foster families or homes. Part of the young people who will participate in the project are young people leaving or have already left the social welfare system or foster families because they turned 18 and they, along with the young NEET group, are the most vulnerable group of young people in this project. Participants are young people between 17 and 22 years old, including an equal number of participants of both sexes.Participants in "Youth4work" will gain knowledge and skills that will help them to enter the labor market and that will increase their employability. This refers to the acquisition of essential communication skills (active listening, respect the speaker, paraphrasing and reflecting, "I" speech, feedback, and non-verbal communication skills), skill of resume writing (with emphasis on the Europass format), the skills of a successful job interview , skill to express one views and opinions in an appropriate manner, and the skills to cope with negative emotions, stress and failure.During the ten-day youth exchange a variety of non-formal and informal methods of working with young people will be used, and some of them are: discussions, presentations, role-plays, "icebreakers", energizers, sports outdoor activity, exercise, sports competitions, design techniques, workshops on a particular theme, artistic expression, outdoor games, small group work, work in pairs, teamwork, interactive exercises, structured exercises and simulations, games for getting to know and creating trust, feedback, process evaluation etc..A total of 66 participants (together with 6 youth leaders) will participate in the project, to it: 20 from Croatia (+ 2 leaders), 20 from Serbia (+2 leaders), and 20 from Bosnia and Herzegovina (+2 leaders). Participants in the project will be young people aged 17-22, all of whom are young people with fewer opportunities.Some of the main effects of the "connect us" to participants are:- better quality of life of young people with fewer opportunities, enriched with new knowledges, skills and abilities- empowered young people aware of their opportunities- young people from the three countries connected in the strong social network and the network of mutual support- reduced risk of social exclusion of young people from foster families, faced with the problem of unemployment- acquired a variety of environmental, social, communication skills and self-advocacy skills, important for the success in the labor market- strengthened the confidence of young people- raised awareness among young people about the importance and value of volunteering and active involvement in the community- participants empowered to cope with stress and negative emotions.In the long term, the project "Youth4work" will contribute to the efforts of civil society organizations in addressing the problem of youth unemployment, and will affect the increase in the quality of life of young people with fewer opportunities involved in the project.
