Youth4Change 2015
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This youth volunteering project "Youth4Change 2015" comprises three long-term EVS activities in two different host organisations in Tyrol, Austria. The main topic of this EVS service is fostering change - change in how people from different countries and cultures perceive one another, change regarding the participants' development of competences, attitudes and skills and welcoming change in host organisations as well as being a change for the target groups and for society. Target groups of the host organisation Die Bäckerei - Kulturbackstube are people of all generations, milieus and countries who are interested in arts and cultural events and in sharing and creating new artistic ideas. There will be two volunteers, one from Southern Spain and one from Northern France, involved in Bäckerei's activities which comprise creating new events in the field of arts and culture and doing graphical work and communicating project ideas and events to young people. The host organisation Volkshilfe Tirol / BETA hosts one volunteer from Albania, who will learn about the situation and challenges of unemployed youth in Wörgl. The volunteer will be involved in different non-formal learning settings and workshops with the young target group and will build a lot of new skills in accompanying them. The methodology in the project is group work, social work, creativity, event management and lots of non-formal methods to foster learning and exchange in both host organisations. The results will be international project ideas and events, made by each of the three volunteers, which will enrich the community and host organisations. The impact of the project will be that the three participants will take away an intense learning experience, new competences, skills and strength for their future, the stakeholders, partners and target groups in Austria will become more curious about EVS and European mobility. One long-term benefit could be a new format of event for Die Bäckerei or new international connections for future projects and for BETA that the volunteer might implement different kinds of supporting sessions for the youngsters. All three participants are currently unemployed and/or have been unemployed in the past in their different countries of residence. They are in their early 20s and curious to win a volunteering opportunity in another country, to get to know people from all over Europe and to develop themselves greatly and gain self confidence and skills for their future. One big objective is that the participants find out more about their own strengths and creativity, about their future plans and dreams during the EVS and will be more equipped for the challenges in society and for their professional future after this EVS project.
