Training Course „Youth Workers in Well-Being” Applicant organization: MRSZ Alapítvány – ÖDE (Hungary)Host place: Vác, close to BudapestDuration of the training course: 15-22.10. 2016 (8 days, travel days included)Duration of the project: 18. 08. 2016 – 17.12. 2016 (4 months)Description: This TC aims to promote wellness and well-being for youth and professional workers (like mentors, supervisors, teachers, trainers, facilitators, social workers, staff members in NGOs, congregations, at EVS placements, at public and private social-educational services or institutions, in youth clubs …) who are dealing particularly with young people with fewer opportunities, to learn, practice and experience tools and methods which can be useful to prevent risks and burn-out situations and to promote wellness in their working place, fostering quality improvements in youth work. This TC is designed to improve cooperation in the youth field at International level, too among organizations who are working with disadvantaged young people.Objective of the projects: - To re-consider daily youth work with young people with fewer opportunities in a "healthy and healthier" way- To improve stress management and prevent burn-out for youth workers and people who are working with teenagers and youngsters at risk- To promote wellness and positive approach/es in youth work with young people with fewer opportunities- To emphasize the benefits of non formal education- To spread information about Erasmus Plus Programme- To improve skills and competences in the youth field by participants- To foster quality improvements in youth work - To enhance policy cooperation among several organizations in different countries and disseminate good practicesNumber and profile of participants: 21 participants from 6 countries (Hungary, Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, Estonia and Turkey), from 7 organizations active in Youth field whose main target group are young people with fewer opportunities. Participants' profile: over 18, youth workers, youth leaders and professional workers (like mentors, supervisors, teachers, trainers, facilitators, social workers, staff members in NGOs, congregations, at EVS placements, at public and private social-educational services or institutions, in youth clubs …) who are dealing with young people and disadvantaged groups.There will be 2 trainers, a facilitator and an administrative referent to support the activities and the participants. A media expert, a former EVS volunteer at ÖDE, is involved in the project to disseminate the results and create a blog about the project. Description of the activities:- getting to know each others, fears and expectation, learning agreement, team building activity- discussion and reflection on values, challenges and risks in Youth work and communication in Youth work- group work and plenary session to focus on participants' main target group, young people with fewer opportunities- simulation activities on how to prevent risks and manage conflict situations in the daily work with youngsters at risk- movement workshop based on Laban Methodology and non verbal communication to learn new tools how to deal with emotional tensions- simple outdoor activities to experience and reflect on how to promote wellness in daily working life in youth field- sharing wellness in youth work, tools and good practices- visit to EVS placements- creation by participants of a "Decalogue" of good practices for a youth worker in well-being - intercultural evening and a dinner outside to "taste" Hungarian typical dishes- non formal education, Youthpass and key competences- reflection, individually, in small groups, supported by a facilitator, final reflection- evaluationMethodology:The course will be based on the main principles of NFE - non formal education (participant centered approach, flexibility of the training program, group as a mutual learning resource, trainers as facilitators of the learning process, multidisciplinary approach/es ) and experiential learning (doing, feeling, reflecting, transferring). Some inputs will be given by Laban Movement Analysis (LMA, a method and language for describing, visualizing, interpreting and documenting all varieties of human movement) and non verbal communication workshops.Expected results and impact: spreading information, knowledge and methods related to non formal education and Erasmus Plus Programme, dissemination of tools and good practices to promote well-ness and well-being in youth work, with particular attention to youth work with young people with fewer opportunities as target group.Potential longer term benefits: empowerment of professionals who are working with young people and with young people with fewer opportunities, promotion of cooperation among organizations in different countries which are active in youth field, promotion of wellness in youth work, support of quality improvements in youth work.
