Youth Summit 2010 - Meeting the challenge - Youth Agenda for Inclusion and Environment
Start date: Sep 1, 2009,

During Youth Summit 2010, 18-23 April, some 200 young people will meet other youth and decision makers in workshops regarding preservation of nature, animals and surroundings in different parts of Europe, as well as being part of social inclusion in doing this. All in a strict non-formal way, this will be done in workshops in the Wildlife park of Kolmården. The participants have a background with grave social exclusion from both society in general and education in particular. Many have experienced economic difficulties, learning disabilities, shattered families, long term unemployment and no, or limited access to and success in the educational system. The youth will meet decision makers in an informal setting, creating dialogue about what our future should hold and create their own Agenda for Inclusion and Environment. Meeting the Challenge is to get all young people included in talking to the decision makers about their own views about environmental issues and social inclusion in an informal setting. The most important focus of our meeting between the young people and decision makers is to motivate the young to wanting to take part in society and talk to decision makers. Many of the participants have only negative experiences in contacting authorities and decision makers, and we want to change that experience into something positive for the future!
