Youth strengthens Europe 2014
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Feb 28, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Mostar Peace Project will host two volunteers from Macedonia and from Turkey, who will accompany our organisation during implementation of our projects. Our aim is to increase our cooperation with youth organisations from these two countries through active networking. With this EVS project, we also want to improve the opportunities of our volunteers for their future carreer and to prepare the ground for further cooperations. We als want young people from Brandenburg and Berlin to share the experience of our volunteers. We wish to increase their own interests for the opportunities to participate in an open European society and to partake in cultural and educational cooperation. We hope to increase the number of volunteers and participants especially in our youth exchanges with other countries in the smaller towns and villages of Brandenburg and among youth with migrational backgrounds. Our volunteers will be actively trained by us, how we work out strategies and plan, organise and implement our projects. Mostar Friedensprojekt e.V. (Association Mostar Peace Project ) was founded in 1994 on the initiative of students and citizens committed to peace in the former Yugoslavia. Since 1995 Mostar Friedensprojekt is registered in the state of Brandenburg as a non profit and charitable organization and has its headquarters in Potsdam. The members of Mostar Peace Project see their involvement in responsibility for their own German history and as a way to contribute a share to the peaceful protection of democratic European values against spreading racism and xenophobia. It does so since its inception with a special focus on the work with youth and with migratnts. The association has organized through 20 years of its existence extensive logistical and humanitarian aid for the former Yugoslavia and in later years also for the Caucasus. Mostar Peace Project organizes a wide range of artistic and cultural events at local, regional and national level in Germany and in Bosnia - Herzegovina. In Potsdam it coordinates and directs international youth exchanges, training, conferences and promotes EU mobility tools. Mostar Peace Project has also produced a number of publications. In Potsdam we hosted a number of international conferences, participated in actitivites of political education with our local Brandenburg institutions, schools and youthclubs. In 2014 we are looking forward to providing two youth exchanges, two study visits and two training seminars. Additionally we will promote mobility tools of the EU among young people in Brandenburg and among young citizens with migrational background in Berlin. At the same time Mostar Peace Projekt maintains until today a stron presence in Bosnia through humanitarian and educational activities, for which it is organizing and fundraising in Germany.
