Youth Participation and Gocal Development
Youth participation and local development is a Contact making Event promoted by the Bruto e Poerio Carpigiani Foundation of Anzola dell'Emilia. The project aimed at facilitating the cooperation between youth organizations in the countries of South-Mediterranean and eastern Europe active on the theme of youth active participation in the definition of projects and / or programs for the local development using non-formal participatory planning. The project involved eight countries (Albania, Macedonia, Poland, Turkey, Romania, Lebanon, Italy, Spain and France) that worked together building strong partnerships for the definition of one or more projects in the framework of the KA2- strategic partnership in the field of youth.
The project addressed the difficulties of the youth workers to address the social and personals youth needs, undermining so their social inclusion and the youth active participation in the social life.
The important changes that have affected the labor market and the economic system have deeply affected the youth world introducing new challenges for the european youth organizations.
The young people feel disoriented and the european mobility represented an escape strategy.
The social and economic changes have also altered the morphology of cities and rural areas, according to the report of the United Nations' World Urbanization prospect 2014 " the 66% of the world population in 2050 will choose to live in cities rather than in rural areas.
To address these changes in a positive way, impacting the future quality of life within the European Union and Neighboring Countries is necessary work on the youth empowerment and active participation connected to the development of our territories.
Youth Participation and Glocal Development was a Partnership building activities project with the following aims:
a) motivate the youth workers in the definition of glocal development strategies through the definition of new methodologies
b) increasing the competencies knowledge and skills of youth workers necessary to promote a project of strategic partnership on the active participation of young people in the framework of the Erasmus plus programme -youth sector
Specifically the project was aimed to:
- Increase awareness and proactivity of the youth workers on the opportunities offered by the Ersmus Plus Programme
- Develop mobility projects in the framework of the Eramsus Plus more youth need oriented
- Improve the impact of European mobility projects promoted by the partnership created
- Improve the attention to the issue of active participation of young people in the definition of concrete and long-lasting action.
