VVJ, Verenignig Vlaamse jeugddiensten (association of municipal youth services) :
- supports local youth services / local youth officers
AND (since 2010) local alderman for youth AND (since 2014) local youth councils
- is a member organization of municipalities
- is a service platform for local youth policy
Our mission: we go for better, more and integral local youth policy. We work with 3 different actors who each play a different role in their own municipality and youth policy. The three actors are: alderman of youth, youth officers and youth councils.
303 municipalities (flanders = 308 municipalities) are a member. It means that VVJ supports more than 800 youth officers.
KEKS is an organization who's also support municipalities. So KEKS can use the contacts to select different kind of interesting projects/ cities/ municipalities to learn from. Sweden has also a strong tradition in youth policy.
KEKS has a lot of experience in international projects. We met each other in Sint-Hertogenbosch ( The Netherlands) to discus and explore our ideas about the exchange between Flanders and Sweden.
The board of KEKS is composed of 41 municipalities that are members of the organization. So we can exchange between youth officers Swedish and Belgian. So we plan an exchange visit to Göteborg with 13 Flemish youth officers.
We like to improve and enhance Knowledge of their own youth policy. The attitude to learn something (new) and see the opportunities of different situations and reflect that on their own work.
we want to stimulate creativity, policymaking and to network with other colleagues during the project.
During the project the communication skills can be amended.
the youth officers can also learn how to plan and organize participation project.
We encourage an open attitude to learn from the different experiences of the Swedish Youth officers.
We like to discover the Swedish Youth policy, visit different participation projects in the various municipalities.
This project contains two major activities. The first one is an advanced visit to prepare the exchange. And the second is the international exchange between Flemish and Swedish youth workers. The exchange program contains ; an introduction in the Swedish youth policy (day 1), visit five different participation projects (day 2), meeting the board members (40 municipalities) and discuss about youth policy and network (day 3).
