Youth leaders for change! is a group EVS project where two young volunteers from Sweden will go to Kyrgyzstan and two young volunteers from Kyrgyzstan will go to Sweden, for a full 12 month duration. In Sweden, activities will be taking part in Lund and Malmö, where the NGO Tamam has local branches. In Kyrgyzstan, the activities of Youth of Osh will be centered around the city of Osh and its environs. The tasks of the volunteers will involve integration, inclusion and motivation of marginalized children and youth in both countries – newly arrived refugees in Sweden and socially and economically marginalized, including orphans, in Kyrgyzstan. The volunteers will also be assisting in strengthening both organizations, deepening the collaboration and extending the exchange of best practices and working methods, thus opening up for joint future projects and leader/youth exchanges. Examples of activities during the service are: leisure time activities, games, communicational activities through music and dance, creative drama, conducting trainings, cultural and language activities, social project design, coaching youth, as well as administrative tasks for the organizations. The involved volunteers will in the future serve as links between Tamam and Youth of Osh and ensure future close development cooperation. Volunteers will also share their experiences upon return to their home countries with young people in and outside their organizations, through seminars, workshops and lectures at a variety of venues.
