PROJECT
FINISHED
In the project "Youth for decent work", supported by EU programme Erasmus+, Movement for Decent Work and Welfare Society will aspire to efficiently address the problem of youth unemployment and precarious work among young adults in collaboration with a volunteer from the Russian organization "Sodrujestvo". The project will last 12 months, from 1 July 2014 until 30 June 2015, and in this time period 25-years old volunteer Natalia Chernova, Bachelor of Sociology, interested into labour market, unemployment issues and active citizenship, will stay in Slovenia.
It has been since its beginning, that our Movement is engaged in drawing attention to the problems associated with precarious employment, but also in encouraging national policy to involve more young people in decision-making and to jointly address the situation of youth and the common concern for decent work. This will remain our main longterm aim, and we believe to be one step closer to it with this project.
The main mission of our organization is the pursuit of giving everyone an opportunity to have a decent job. From this basis, the idea behind the EVS project is to effectively contribute to the improvement of national employment policies and to the visibility between different types of work and their practices. We plan to achieve this through the preparation of a research paper on the topics stated above, as well as through the organization of a large conference and a summer camp for young people, dedicated to the topic of youth employment, in which our volunteer will actively participate in the preparation of the project. Special attention will be given to the youngsters (young adults), who are our main target group. On the long term we would like to strenghten our partnership with Russian organisation and spread the results of the research among national decision-makers in Slovenia.
Being aware of the needs and wishes of the volunteer, who will participate in the project, we will focus also on the integration of our volunteer in our group and to give her a broader vision of Slovenia as well. Additionally, our volunteer will be exposed to learning and gaining experience throughout the entire project, in close affiliation with the implementation of the projects in the field of decent work, labor market and active labor market policies. On the basis of the previous experiences, a common project in cooperation with an EVS volunteer has always proved to be an excellent mutual gain.
