Training course project “Youth exchanges for beginners” is a project developed by 8 partners coming from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, UK, Poland, Italy, Portugal and Romania. This project has involved 35 youth workers / youth leaders who were willing to start working at international level, specifically using international youth exchanges as a tool for young peoples competencies development. The training course duration was 9 days. The training course was implemented in Lilaste, Latvia from 19 to 27 of October, 2015. The main aim of this training course was: to promote youth exchanges as tool for creating more opportunities for youth with fewer opportunities, to gain needed social competencies. Holistic learning of participants was assured through practical tasks, simulations, working in small groups, intercultural learning methods. The participants gained project idea development, project application writing and youth exchange implementation competences, as well learned what is a quality youth exchange. The project partners and participants after the training course launched 7 youth exchanges projects.
