Training course project “Youth exchanges for rural youth” is a project developed by 7 partners coming from Latvia, Finland, Lithuania, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova. This project will involve 28 youth workers / youth leaders for 9 days Educational activity in Lithuania in late 2014. The main aim of this training course – is to promote youth exchanges as tool for supporting and developing competencies of unemployed rural youth. The experience of partners in community based youth work is a Common ground for this training course, the common understanding that non-formal learning can really boost personal development of youngster – particularly if he/she not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). We see youth exchanges as great space for non-formal learning environment and we will invite youth workers and youth leaders to get inspired and get well prepared to use this opportunity for working on such important issue in the youth field. During the training course practical tasks, simulations, small groups, intercultural learning methods will be used to assure holistic learning of participants. Participants of the training course will be youth workers and youth leaders from partner countries who have a wish to start working at international level, specifically using international youth exchanges as a tool for young peoples competencies development. The participants will gain project idea development, project application writing and youth exchange implementation competences. The expected follow up is 5 future youth exchanges created by the participants in the future. Partner organizations and their local realities will have active youth workers and youth leaders. The mobility projects will increase positive attitudes towards these regions through increase of people visiting the place. In the long run it should increase of international participation opportunities for rural youth in project partner areas. Local municipalities should develop positive perceptions of youth participation and support international youth actions.
