Youth Eco Summer is a mobility project - youth exchange that will be implemented by the "ECO Youths" Association in partnership with A.D.E.L. - Association for Development, Education and Labour - Slovakia "Eufemia Association" - Italy, "Express Yourself" - Latvia "CYA-The Change is in You" Association - Bulgaria, a project that will take place from 20th to 28th of August 2016, in Targu Jiu, Gorj County.The main topics that will be treated in the project are: Ecology (pollution of natural systems - the negative effects) and involvement and education of youth in ecological field.The project goal is to provide environmental education to young people, so they develop a close relationship to the environment, improving its quality by providing environmentally responsible and efficient activities.The objectives of the project are:- Environmental education among the 25 young people by acquiring a stock of knowledge on the concept of ecology, mainly on environmental pollution systems (water, soil and air).- Development of identification skills of ecological activities and improving practical skills for implementation of activities with the positive results for the environment.- Increase the capacity for organization and implementation of environmental activities, among 25 young, local authorities and raising awareness about environmental issues.- Develop the European cooperation in projects with the same theme.- Promoting Erasmus + and mobility of young people as an opportunity for involvement and personal and professional development.The project will involve 25 young people interested in the proposed topics, and open to non-formal learning. 10 young people between the participants will be young people with fewer opportunities, facing social and geographical barriers, educational and economic difficulties. The activities to be implemented are presentations (sending organization, project presentation, Erasmus + presentation)Learning Session: Overview of the concept of ecology, presentation on aquatic pollution (pollution sources, pollutants or negative effects of pollution, statistics). Presentation on soil pollution (pollution sources, pollutants or negative effects, statistics). Presentation of air pollution (as described above), presentations by the participants of the environmental issues identified in their countries. Presentation of the Youthpass. Certificate.Visits / meetings: wastewater treatment station in Targu-Jiu, meeting with media representatives.Awareness Activities/Practical activities: Planting 60 trees in the Jiu Valley National Park , the greening of polluted areas, creating eco panels / banners.Public events: Exhibition of eco panels, living exhibition with ECo message, interviews with citizens about the project theme.Other activities: energizing and knowledge games, teambuilding, intercultural evenings, watching videos, daily and final evaluations.The learning process is based n non-formal methods such as: PowerPoint presentations, open discussion, brainstorming, public events, games of knowledge, teambuilding, dialogue, debates, interactive intervention, small/large group discussions, interviews, direct and open questions, analysis, watching videos, live exhibition.The learning outcomes from the project are related to the acquisition and development of skills, attitudes, competences and knowledge. Participants will gain knowledge in ecology, will gain communication skills in written and verbal English, ability to initiate and sustain conversation and expression of views, the ability and attitude of solidarity in solving common problems, technological competence, will develop organizational and managerial skills, identify strengths and weaknesses, cultural competences.
