Title of the project: Youth Dreams Become TrueWe would like to give opportunity for young adults within the framework of European Voluntary Service, what is not trough work, training and not attending a school but try out themselves by spreading their wings to be brave, to dream and to achieve their life plans or get closer to them. First of all the volunteers will be a part of a long-term learning process: they’ll see the world, get to know other cultures, collect many experiences, challenge themselves, get to know their boundaries. Hereafter they can gain friends, while taking responsibility they experience independency, improving new skills they can try out how is to work in a team for socially useful projects and common good. They will have the permission and outlook to succeed knowing that failure is simply an opportunity to try again. Volunteers will be trusted, valued, encouraged, and celebrated self-esteem soars. Moreover there will be qualified helpers to get over difficulties, help and support the young volunteer. The volunteers will experience a secure environment with their creativity to take part in diverse projects, where they’re committed for common good projects. Our most important aim is social participation which is creating opportunities for young people. New opportunities and perspectives will open for the volunteers during and after their voluntary service.Number and profile of the participants:Number of volunteers: 17, for 11 months10 receiving organizations.9 Sending Organization: Estonia, Germany (2), France, Italy (2), Romania, Slovakia and the UkraineLocation: Budapest and in one case Debrecen.1 coordinating organisation, totally 20 partner organisations. The project allows cooperation within many different sectors. It is about gaining and growing from a shared experience that is beneficial for all actors, sending, hosting, coordinating organizations, mentors, volunteers and recognize the learning journey that it involves. The placements are organisations dealing with education, community development, health and social services and kindergartens.Every partner have skilled colleagues, they have good infrastructure and professional knowledge for selection, support and for management of the project. We meet with the colleagues annually once, when we evaluate the previous experiences and professionally support each other. In this network we developed working groups to grow professionally. In the framework of the project we cooperate with 4 partner which are not member of the EDYN network: Italian, Romanian, German, and an Estonian organization who are also active as receiving organization. We met with those organization trough Youth Exchanges, Partnership Building Seminars. Those partners have extensive experience in the European Voluntary Service as receiving and sending organisation.Impact: The volunteers can get skills for further education and they can return to their home countries with more maturity, self-confidence and as active citizens. The receiving organisations benefit not only from activity of the volunteers but also by the dialogue and exchange of experience between different cultures. For the future one of the greatest benefits can be that after the project, those employers who offer job opportunities for ex-volunteers, they gain more experienced, more committed staff. When staff members believe that volunteers can and will succeed, they most likely will. Belief in a young volunteers’ potential carries a confidence that is transferable and along with that confidence comes a sense of empowerment.
