Youth democracy in action - Hitt Húsið study visit to Sweden

Hitt Húsið is the only youth center for 16-25 year old individuals in the center of Reykjavík. Our aim is to provide opportunities for young people, be a platform for youth led ideas and to reflect youth culture. We feel that there are certain topics that we need to improve our work on, one of them being how to create a more youth lead policy when it comes to decision making and agenda setting for the activities we have at Hitt Húsið. As well we think it is important to seek knowledge and best practice sharing from relevant institutions for us to be competitive in the service that we provide young people with. We feel it would be beneficial for the people who would go on the study visit to get a broader picture of different working methods and alternatives ways of running a youth center. That is the main reasoning for why we want to visit our contacts in Sweden to get an in depth look and experience in different youth centers and projects.
