Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jul 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Youth Compute” was an international training course which took place in Sion, France, from 12-19 December 2014. This project brought together 35 youth workers and provided them with an opportunity to gain the necessary computer skills and also enhance their intercultural experience through using the Internet technology. Through the intensive 8 days program of the project the participants had an opportunity to learn more about the recent trends in social media, the modern phenomenon of cloud computing and created a social media strategy for the organizations they come from. The program of the projects was aimed to bring the youth workers and youth leaders to have a close look at the current trends and practices used in the region concerning the Internet technology, as well as to learn more about the European practices concerning this topic. It is important to stress that the online security was another significant part when it comes to using the Internet technology. At the very end, the ecological aspect of the usage of cloud computing as a future solution for business was presented. Being able to work in multicultural groups at the project, the participants had a closer look at the different ideas, objectives, techniques and legislations common for the participating countries. Through the organized trip to France they also became a part from the French ordinary life and experience. To sum everything up, the non-formal educational methods, which were used, were connected with educating the participants about the current IT trends, after which they were trained to use the most important tools and apply them in the work in their NGOs and life in general. As part of the training, the discussions with the participants and the evaluation forms were frequently used in order to improve the quality of the training.
