To support the creation of stable cooperation between youth NGO’s and the communities in which they work that lead to more young people taking part in public life in their communities, the planned TC “Youth Caravan 2012 – Promoting Youth Participation in Europe’’ will give its participants the necessary knowledge and set of practical skills to promote youth participation, civic activism and volunteerism in their local communities, enabling them to develop and to run certain local activities in order to translate the learning outcomes of the TC into practice on local level. Attending the TC will help the participants to build capacities for developing & implementing such projects and to develop partnerships for future action in this field. In this regard the program of the TC will focus first on the capacity building of participants and partners involved, as a kind of foundation for the activities to come. As a next stage, the activities will be focused on communication, internal as well as external, involving communication strategies, marketing and the use of new media. In the next stage, the activities will focus on fundraising and diversifying sources of funding. All this is creating a framework of necessary knowledge and skills needed for development of future ideas and projects which will be implemented in the follow-up activities, creating long-term impact and strengthening the results of the TC as contributing to young people’s spirit of initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship. In order to reach its goals the set of activities during the TC is based on methods non-formal education, using for example various role plays, exercises, simulations, and work in small groups, individual work, presentations and discussion of outcomes as well as intercultural activities. The TC will take place in Andrevlje, Serbia from 1st to 9th of November 2012 in cooperation with partners from EU27 programme countries and neighbouring partner countries of SEE.
