Young People's Responsibility to Inform Decision M..
Young People's Responsibility to Inform Decision Makers in Europe
Start date: Sep 1, 2012,
Young PRIDE will target young people who have taken part in a Youth in Action or Lifelong Learning Programme between 2007 and 2012. The aim of this National Youth Meeting would be to bring together young people who were previous recipients of EU funded programmes in order to1) Evaluate their experiences2) Discover ways to capitalise on their experience and utilise their learning and development3) Inform EU policy makers about their experiences and the reality of the programmes they have funded and also discuss the future of the programmeThis powerful meeting will be a platform for participants to air their views and evaluate their experience, it will also be an opportunity to investigate how they can capitalise on the international experience through various workshops and surgeries occurring throughout the duration of the meeting. Finally information will be collected to inform policy makers of direct youth recommendations relating to these two programmes. This information collection will be an innovative part of the meeting and is described later in more detail, but in brief: The event will include a wide variety of delivery styles and methodologies such as plenary, video rooms, creative workshops in photography, music or arts to unpack young people's experiences; empowering workshops such as a YOUTHPASS, Europass CV workshop and a Youth Initiatives workshop in order to build on prior learning and capitalise on what participants achieved in their previous EU funded experience; discussion, round table and debate with young people and decision makers and finally forum theatre and podcasts to collect information to disseminate to policy makers on the 2007 - 2013 Youth in Action programme impact. We believe occurring in the final year of the current programme the European topic and results will be of interest to European Policy Makers both as a measure of closure on the current programme and also informing policy makers in the final stages of creating Erasmus for all programme content.
