We are different, but at the same time, we have a lot in common. This philosophical concept serves as the basis of cooperation between Latvia and Lithuania. The project executives have appropriate experience in the field of youth, even though, we have to admit, that our methods vary. Both partners will organize similar activities and will share their experience in the end of the project. We are convinced that youth is the resource and the project will provide necessary opportunities to exchange experience and to be themselves, to be the creators of cultural activities, workshops and common events on the local and international level. Creating of the Youth House will make the local environment and life in the city more attractive and friendly for youth. It will be great investment in the future of local society. Acknowledging the role of the youth in our society's upgrowth, we are sure that we have to ensure young people with possibilities to spend their free time more expediently, developing skills and promoting their ability to succeed in the labour market. To ensure that young people will have such possibilities, where everyone can express themselves, investments are required. However, our current socioeconomical situation doesn't allow us to provide these possibilities fully. The essence of the project is to create an environment in which free activities are freely available for every youngster. As outcomes of the project will be: • The Youth House will be established in Liepaja and Klaipeda; • Short films will be made by young people in the media workshops; • A handbook of good practice made by young people for working with youth will be published ; • Lectures - trainings and international conferences for youth; • A Youth Week will be organized in each partner’s city. The idea of the project is based on the actual need. The variety of activities which could be offered for young people depends on their interests, hobbies, social stress and more different factors must be taken into account in planning and implementing activities for young people. Usually 14 - 29 years aged young people wish to see everything, hear everything and try not to miss anything. So work forms and methods should be selected carefully. During the project the Youth House in Liepaja will be developed and the Open Space Youth Centre in Klaipeda will be renovated.
