"With You(th) Citizen in Action: Cities For People" we want to provide the opportunity and skills to analyze and enhance urban space, to make youth watch more closely to the public space, making them more conscious and critical of their surroundings. We will also offer practical tools & workshops so youth and youth workers can initiate and coordinate constructive & creative urban actions aiming at improving public space. Thereby aiming at fostering civic connection, facilitating (inter)cultural exchange and enhancing urban wellbeing. In the case of successful actions it is not unlikely that policy makers, e.g. Elder(wo)men, Ministers, Mayors, will listen and even implicate citizens, in the way of active participation, to adapt policy and/or take action to improve the city to the needs of humans. The aim of this project is to provide youth and youth workers with those mentioned competences and to set up urban actions with young people. These actions aim at improving cities on the matter of wellbeing and health. Advocating more urban civic participation aiming for inclusive policy-making and making cities more people-centered. In order to achieve this goal we have put forward the following objectives: - Getting introduced to the concept of place making and Cities for People- Learn about active participation in order to influence policy making- Gain insight on how existing projects have influenced policy in different cities - Learn how to approach the specific investigated public space keeping in mind all its aspects and the different stakeholders- Develop practical skills to enhance public space and adapt cities to the human scale through workshops and participating in existing initiatives from stakeholders- Stimulate active citizenship through discussion and reflection on the impact of individual and collective acts-- Learn how to set up successful citizens initiatives - Develop and Implement actions aimed at improving cities for the better (people-centered) - Make an action plan for local actions when returning to their own reality and provide a platform to encourage the exchange of their actionsTo reach these objectives we will use Non-Formal Education methodologies to explore the topics. We are convinced that we will offer our participants the program's content in a fun, exciting and challenging way. The emphasis of the methodology will be on the aspects of dialogue, intercultural learning, learning by doing, epxerimenting with new techniques and of course reflecting on the program, themselves, the process and the facilitators.
