YMCA Europe is the umbrella organisation of all YMCA's in Europe. So a huge network of big and old youth work organisations all over Europe. During the past years we found out that although there is a lot of skill, knowledge and experience all over Europe in these YMCA's, there is no clear method of working and sharing with this experiences.
The Y'ACT (YMCA Academy for Cooperation and Training) aims to collect and share knowledge, create a mutual way of working in terms of a pedagogic approach and wants to train and facilitate 'trainers and facilitators' to deliver trainings, workshops and sessions all over Europe to strengthen local, national and regional YMCA's in order to strengthen YMCA Europe as a whole.
There is a huge potential in the YMCA and we believe that we can empower this potential and create a new, modern and effective way of youthwork. Based on experiential learning, non-formal education and core values of the YMCA: Body Mind and Spirit.
This is an application for funding for the first start up meeting with some key persons that are involved in the preparation of this huge project. The total project will take place in the period 2016-2020. And will consist of many training sessions (on local and European level) and a long term partnership in which we will develop methods, tools and a common approach.
In this first meeting the 7 key persons (from the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Russia) will come together in the Netherlands to work on the planning, content, dividing tasks and creating a common and clear vision. After this meeting there should be clear communication and a set up and guidelines for the future trainings and partnerships.
