The overall objective of the YES Project is to increase the awareness and sustainability of energy use and reduce the associated carbon emissions in cross-border schools through a joint educational programme designed to teach secondary school students (13-17 years old) about practical energy management skills and their application to the schools. Expected Results: Estimated results: 40 teachers trained in energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, climate change; 600 students directly involved in the general sustainable energy training programmes; 20 students forming 4 school energy management teams (SEMT) trained in how to conduct a detailed energy survey of the school and document their findings in a report; 4 energy audits developed by certified experts; 4 energy surveys of the schools conducted by the 4 SEMTs reflected in reports presented to the schools senior staff; 4 Energy Management Plans for the participating schools; 4 Energy Monitoring Systems installed in the participating schools; 4 energy awareness campaigns targeting the students, teachers, parents.
