PROJECT
FINISHED
As the collaborative, innovative approaches and interaction of 21st century forcing both teachers and students, it has become impossible for them to remain ignorant to all these developments.
The project "Students interacting with refreshed teachers boosting their competences" has originated from reports of Strategic School Development and Quality commitee of our institution to enhance effective communication between teachers, students and parents,to make science education more attractive by means of ICT and to improve speaking skills with innovative techniques. According to research and surveys carried out while some of our school staff needs constructive communication, creative thinking, time management and flexibility, another group needs to learn new ways of using taslets and interactive boards to make science lessons more attractive. The last group of teachers need to acquire innovative ways of developing speaking skills in language teaching.
It is aimed to qualify our staff both individual and institutionally with innovative, collaborative and sustainable approaches with the help of these training in different European countries. Thus, it will help to solve our institutional problems.
Trainings mentioned above will innovate and contribute to teachers' digital competences, communication skills and language teaching techniques. These trainings and professional experiences will not only enhance their basic and transversal competences but also it will contribute to internationalization our institution, language development of staff, respect for other cultures.
Even during the process of creating this project,a dramatic awarenes has arisen among the staff about EU Education and Culture Department's objectives.
'Effective communication training'will be attended by 4 teachers in Spain and 4 teachers in Slovenia , 4 science and maths teachers will be attending 'making science lessons more attractive by means of tablets and smart boards' in Sweden and 4 others will take the same course in Estonia. Finally 4 English teachers will get training of 'innovative speaking skills techniques' in UK on different dates for a week. So 19 out of 26 teachers will be refreshed through professional and individual development.
We have looked through the contents of the courses to be conducted by the European institutions and we have communicated with the courses which will fulfill our expectations .We have decided who will be the course participants and how many participants will attend the courses by preparing an official paper by our school taking into consideration our teachers' attending the courses effectively, being willing to attend and having some capacities.
The methodology will be "hands on" methodology.Teachers will be able to prepare their own multimedia lesson contents and materials by using method, technique and tools they have learnt at this training. They will get the chance to evaluate these prepared materials with the other participants by discussing face to face. The long term benefits of these courses will be that more teachers will benefit from the outcomes of the courses.Furthermore; the communication and the possibility of working with the course providers will continue after the course period. The participants will reach the course materials easily and they will continue the communication and colloboration with the course trainers and the other participants via social media. The outcomes of the course will be shared with the school administrations. The training will be evaluated with a standart questionnaire. Finally; our teachers who will attend the course will have learnt the 21st century skills and will have raised the quality of the education and teaching at our own school.
The use of Europass tools and eTwinning portal will contribute to dissemination of our project together with other dissemination devices and activities.
Each group will send eperience share to Turkish National Agency.
