"The Next Generation Learning" project which was prepared by Gaziantep Sabahattin Zaim the Social Sciences High School has been planned as a result of the needs analysis of the school because in the needs analysis those problem were appeared: technological innovations in classroom activities , Web 2.0 internet tools , social networks,digital equipment are not used effectively. Tablets distributed to the 9th class student in 2014 by the Ministry of Education in the field of Fatih project are not used for clasrrom activities as well. Because of this the students' learning skills and academic successes are not efficient for their future university education. Needs analysis shows that the main cause of this problem, the school staff is not proficient to the use of technological tools such as tablets, Web 2.0 in the classroom of the school and and they have not enough knowledge about the new technology-supported learning methods and the latest methods and techniques approved and recommended by the European Union and they are not sufficient to to integrate those in the curriculum an their lesson plans.
International mobility of the project which is the project's main activity is that one administrative staff, one ICT teacher and 6 other teachers will attend the "Creativity in Teaching and Learning using ICT: The Digital Classroom" course which will be held in Madrid, Spain on 22 to 28 August 2015.
8 participants of the project were selected by the teachers' council during the school staff meeting according to the criteria set which was determined by the teachers' council. 2 participants have got the project cycle management certifications. All participants took part in the Comenius project carried out at the school before and have gained experience. They joined in service trainin programs about project menagement held by Privincial Education Department. IT teacher is an official Fatih project specialist.
After they have attended the course, participants will gain proficiency in the use of methods and techniques for teaching and learning by the means of new technological tools and equipment. They will get a certificate of attendance at the end of the course. They will be efficient in using effective and teaching methods and approaches in their esson plans and school qualitiy development plan. When they are back they will share their experiences and achievements gained in the course with other staff in the school, students and their families and the staf, student and parents in the other schools in Gaziantep through seminars, meetings, in service training programs.
A project committeeincluding the headmaster of the school and school staff who are chosen by the headmaster will control the project activities.
The activities carried out during the project will be presented on the school boards, school website, the project corner, and will be shared through seminars, in-service training, presentations, will be announced in the local pressn for the target groups and everyone who is interested.
The results of the project:
-Participants will get the knowledge and proficiency in using new innovative technology in classes and learn innovative teaching and learning methods and will share their knowledge and experiences with the staff, students and parents in thweir school and in other schools in Gaziantep. So they will help the use of these educational methods in schools.
-They will be familiar with the latest Web 2.0 and new internet trends and how to integrate those approaches in he curriculum and lesson plans and they will share those knowledge with the staff, students, parents in the school and in other schools. So they will contribute to increasing the quality of education in the province.
-Students will be able to use technology and web tools for effective learning as a result of this they will be more successful to go to unversity in the future.
-School staff, students and their families will increase awareness of being European Union citizen and be aware of different cultures.
-Staff, school students, parents in the school and in other school and local public institutions in the province will gain higher motivation to participate in such international projects.
-All of the target groups will acquire increased skills of using foreign languages, technological tools and they will have basic computer proficiency.
