YE-Polish-Norwegian Week of Tolerance and Freedom of Expression 2014

Background of the project: 2 youth organisations of the twin municipalities Hå and Wegliniec wished to strenghen the contact. In the frames of the 200 years anniversary of the Norwegian constitution and the long history of constitutional law in Poland common focus area in 2014 was Freedom of Expression, that is one of the paragraphs in our constitutions. 24 young people from Wegliniec Youth Group (Poland) and Hå Youth Council (Norway) carried out a bilateral youth exchange project for one week. Main focus of the project: Tolerance, Freedom of Expression, Participation and Community. Through workshops, games and cultural evenings the project aimed to strenghen the confidence of each youth, strenghten the solidarity between 2 youth groups from 2 different countries, raise knowledge of the youth as to the focus areas of the project, raise the awareness of the youths of Polish and Norwegian Culture, ensure that the youth obtain a deeper understanding of own choices and actions and develop their qualification to be active citizens in society. At the level of the organisations the main objectives were to strengthen internal community, strengten the solidarity between the organisations, develop internationalisation and raise competencies in project management. Short description of the result and impact envisaged: Rised solidarity and respect between young people to espesially with regards to social community in Europe Larger extend of mutual respect between young people in European countries Poles are one of the lagres immigrant group in Norway today. Therefore the project aimed to prevent stereotypes of Poles and Norwegians.
