Entrepreneurship is recognized as a way for youth to create employment for themselves and their peers. However, entrepreneurs and especially young entrepreneurs face many challenges when trying to grow their enterprise. Lack of training, information and financing in particular can be a major obstacle. Considering the great potential impact of youth enterprise, CYFI and its consortium of partners believe that empowering and supporting these entrepreneurs to overcome such obstacles will be a powerful way to tackle youth unemployment. The Project aims to provide entrepreneurial trainings and international development support for youth entrepreneurship organizations and entrepreneurs worldwide, with a focus on India, Kenya and Spain. The main theme of the trainings, workshops and events revolve around investment readiness and access to funding, as we consider it to be the main need and challenge of young entrepreneurs. The Project supports capacity buildings of entrepreneurship support organizations and (aspiring) youth entrepreneurs (aged between 16 and 30) in India, Kenya, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and other countries. The Project will reach the target groups via both online and offline approaches. It is expected to directly impact at least 450 youth in the Partner’s countries, and indirectly over10000 through the (extended) network of CYFI and the Partners (the network of the four partners alone comprise of over 20000 entrepreneurs). The Project is continuously supported by the Ye! Community (www.yecommunity.com). The Ye! Community is an online youth entrepreneurship platform that provides country business guides, useful SME business tools, an online entrepreneur community, coaching and funding opportunities to entrepreneurs aged 16 to 30. As it is free, online and mobile-friendly, it is a uniquely flexible and useful tool for young entrepreneurs, and a way for the Partners to provide continuous support to the Project participants. We will continue to develop the website alongside the project.
