Yaşamak istiyorsan doğayı yaşat
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our natural diversity is decreasing with every passing day. Industrialization and population density in cities cause increasing environmental problems. Today, environmental pollution, which is the common problem for all countries, has reached a threatening level for human health. Nowadays, global warming and climate changes are felt by everyone. We should leave a better environment for the future generations and for this reason, we have to accomplish our missions to prevent the environment pollution. To feed the increasing world population, agricultural activities have been increased so the ground surface in many regions around the world has drastically changed. Today, it is not possible to see a lot of water birds together in any region around Europe as almost all mashes have been dried to be used for agriculture and settlement area so the habitat of these animals was destroyed by the human being. Homo sapience have been changing its natural environment since the prehistoric ages that s/he learned how to make a fire. However, his damage against the nature has reached remarkable levels in this century. The main reason of that is the incredible development in technology. It has to be our mission to preserve millions of animals and plant species that share this planet with us from the wildest places to our houses. Yet, preserving the nature does not mean to protect only living things. All natural resources such as water, soil, minerals are also part of this mission and they should be also used carefully. This is the only way to protect all natural resources not to drain or become extinct. For this reason, it is vital to improve the sense of responsibility among the wide public to allow all living things as well as human being to use the resources of our planet for a long time. The main aim of this multi-partnership project ‘Let the nature live if you want to live’ is to increase the awareness raising and sensitivity of the youth on the environment, energy saving and recycling. The project activities will be realized in Kayseri. This project promotes both to increase the knowledge and sensitivity of the young people from participant countries on the subject matter and to call attention of the wide public in Kayseri to think about environmental issues. It will also give a possibity to realize some common Youth Programme objectives such as mutual cultural sharing, fostering international cooperation, and raising awareness on EU citizenship like the other youth projects. Our project duration is 7 months. The participants are 9 teenagers ages between16 and 19 and their group leaders from Greece, Romania, France and Latvia and host partner Turkey. Total 54 participants will take part in the project activities. Different activities on different topics related to environmental issues will be organized such as setting up an international memorial forest, collecting garbage and creating art using these recycling materials, practical training on how to act in and protect the nature, trips to learn flora and fauna, preserving natural, cultural heritages, local cultural sharing. Important institutions in the host city such as The Governorship of Kayseri, Metropolitan Municipality of Kayseri, Directorate for Environment and Forests, Erciyes University Emergency Department will supply both the training staff and material for the project activities. Thus, institutional cooperation on environmental issues among institutions in the region will be strengthened. During the project activities, different methods will be used such as non-formal trainings, learning by doing, workshops, group works and discussions, impromptu performances, playing local or international scouting games. Over the long term, this project will foster better cooperations and more effective projects developed on the sustainable solutions for the environmental problems and it will contribute to raise a a new generation who are more sensitive about the nature and environment around them.
