Y Vote convention: More Europe but Which Europe?

YVote 2014 is an EU-wide campaign aiming to turn first-time voters and students into actors of the European Parliamentary Elections 2014 by informing them and encouraging them to participate.With this campaign, we want to enable young people to- Take stands on the most important social issues in Europe,- Exchange and develop their positions together- Effectively spread them by taking active role in democratic processes of different settings and structures with central focus on:- make informed choices and vote at the EP elections 2014.The campaign is designed and planned by young people for young people. The issue of a European democratic deficit and the political apathy of the youngest citizens is of paramount importance for young people themselves in the first place.One of the main activities of this campaign is the organisation of 10 European youth conventions on different topics, which aim at enabling young people to contribute directly to the European Parliamentary Elections 2014, by exchanging their ideas and making recommendations which will be gathered in a youth manifesto, which will present what young people want to ask to their future representatives in the European Parliament. This convention will take place in Brussels, from 19 to 23rd of March 2014, and will focus on the following topic "More Europe, but which Europe?", giving space for the 25 young people coming from different European countries, to discuss their views on the building of Europe, the direction this political construction is taking and drafting recommendation on how young people want to see Europe develop, as a political, geographical and social model. Additionally, participants will be able to discuss with candidates MEP during the convention, as well as organise and animate activities in the city, to increase their fellows' young people's participation.
