PROJECT
FINISHED
The hate crime rates are increasing in the world nowadays, including in the European Union. The discriminative, excluding behaviour, the prejudice connected to disadvantaged groups - including minorities - is spreading. There is also an increase in the rate of violent crimes, which are committed by youngsters in many cases. The youngsters’ behaviour is greatly influenced by the society, their contemporaries, and the media. Their main supporting community, their family doesn’t indicate a positive example, and they don’t represent a control for them in this activity. Schools are incapable to develop competences and spreading information connected to this area. The main reasoning behind their inability is the lack of capacity. So it is important to implement programmes which have an effect in influencing youngsters connected to the theme and the disadvantaged groups. We would like to contribute to the creation of the prejudice-free society ideals.
We would like to unfold these society problems before the youngsters, we would like to influence them to act responsibly and consciously, to step up actively for equality and equal treatment and to fight against hate speech and discrimination. We would like to implement a youth exchange programme including youngsters from four nations. In this programme we would like to develop the knowledge and the individual and group competences of youngsters and their personality through non-formal pedagogical methods. The youth exchange programme would be implemented in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, between the 01st - 07th February, 2016. Seven youngsters will take part in the project from each county, and one group leader will also be present for each participating nation. We would like to focus on youngsters between the age of 18 and 25, who have relevant life experiences, and they are capable to spread the learned knowledge effectively to the youngsters, communities of their nation, and their main environment. As the result of the project the youngsters will be able to realize the importance of human rights, they will get a knowledge about human rights institutions and the European Union’s intentions. They will also get to know the situation in the participating countries, and their attitude to the aforementioned themes.
