Work with your strengths for a strong Europe!

During this project we want to work on the strengths of (head)teachers and pupils to make sure we create better teachers and learners. Too often the evaluation of teachers and pupils focuses on their weaknesses. We want to change that and create education from a positive point of view, so that we increase the motivation of both. The project is worked out on two tracks:- on the level of (head)teachers: we want to discover the strengths of all teachers by means of the theoretical approach of Marcus Buckingham: ‘Discover your strengths’. Once the (head)teachers are aware of their strengths they will get opportunities to improve them (personal aspect) and to strengthen the school (group aspect). This is a way to improve the working of the school and to increase the motivation of the teachers.- on the level of the pupils: we want the pupils to discover their strengths. Therefore, we want to develop, implement and improve methods the teachers can use to discover these strengths, such as the labyrinth. We want the children to get a picture of their strengths, to improve them and to accept themselves as they are, to be more motivated to learn and hopefully become better humans. From this positive view on learning, all actors (heads, teachers and pupils) in the school become complementary to each other and enrich each other. As an end result we want to create tools to work on strengths and to create a ‘richer’ school.
