The Work and Travel project involves students from the main professional areas in Livorno which include:
Administration, Tourism, Marketing, Logistics and Welfare.
The project wants to respond to the ever-increasing youth unemployment within the Livorno area, they propose to facilitate a mobility pathway for 50 people that will encourage the appropriate level of professional development and to enable them to become a competitive force in both the local and European market.
They will consist two distinct target groups: Students in their last year of study and young graduates.
The student's objectives are:
- Acquisition of skills related to – 1) accounting, administration and management with a European dimension; 2) management to the applied movement of goods; 3) management and promotion of tourism products and services; 4) the supply and administration of wellness facilities.
- Improvement of linguistic skills
- Acquisition/Improvement of socio-cultural skills in addition to specific technical skills
- Acquisition/Improvement of key skills to complete both a personal and professional path.
The graduate's objectives are:
- Consolidation and acquisition of new skills relating to – 1) accounting, administration and management with a European dimension; 2) management to the applied movement of goods; 3) management and promotion of tourism products and services.
- Improvement of linguistic skills in their referred sector
- Acquisition/Improvement of socio-cultural skills in addition to specific technical skills
- Improvement of key skills to promote lifelong learning
- Overall improvement of employability at a local and international level.
The promoter's objectives are:
- Enriching the quality of the traineeships
- Increasing and improving the skills of their own students
- Producing more employable students, both now and in the future
- Bring the world of school into the world of work, responding to the needs of the ever-changing local and European market
- Spreading more information about the existence of different European projects to a larger number of people, companies, and institutions.
The expected results are as follows:
To complete the training and increase the employability of the final participants, greater efficiency of partner companies through providing trained, qualified and updated staff, an improvement of the proposed courses from 'I.I.S. “Vespucci – Colombo', and a widespread diffusion of the experience at different levels.
The project, with a total duration of 12 months, involves the participation of 40 students (5 of which with learning disabilites) and 10 young graduates.
