Project named "EVS - inspire the world for acting!" was a result of cooperation between Fundacja im. ks. Siemaszki and two partner organisations: Akzija spokuty sarady myru from Ukraine and CEMEA from France. It lasted 16 months involving 2 volunteers: Rodrigue from France and Olga from Ukraine.
Rodrigue was our volunteer since August 2014 until July 2015. He decided to be an EVS volunteer to get new experiences, to raise his competences before he will apply for a job. He worked in the office and helped with dynamically growing AFS programme. He was himself a participant of AFS programme, so he had experience, which was very useful for his tasks. He helped with: everyday exchanging e-mails with our partner organisations and volunteers from Europe, South America, USA and Asia; to care about hosting students; to prepare Polish students for their year abroad. He was also involved in trainings for volunteers and in presentations in middle schools and high schools. He took a part in international AFS meetings in Poladn and abroad, one of them was the celebration of the 100 anniversary of existing of AFS Intercultural Programs in Paris. He also provided French classes for high school students and for students wanting going abroad with AFS program. He promoted EVS also during special meeting with high school students and university students.
Olga was with us since September 2014 and stayed 12 months. She lived in the place in the close connection with lasting in Ukraine war. Her mobility was strongly connected with after-school-activities, which our organisation offers children and young people from Piekary and around, also from Krakow. She helped in the art room, ceramic, theatre. She was involved in preparations for Easter and Christmas exhibitions of children's paintings in Piekary. She run English classes for children from primary school. During the winter break and the summer break she was one of the volunteers involved in special classes for children and she taught them English and also Russian and Ukrainian words. She helped in the office with communication with our partners from Ukraine, translating documents and checking e-mails.She helped us with logistic before international youth exchanges and she was also perfect trainer in getting- to -know -each- other parts of meetings. She prepared and run polish-german-ukrainian project called "Born to be free" in July 2015. Olga was very open-minded and talented volunteer and she really wanted to learn new things and to get new experiences. She was also an artist and we organized exhibition of her drawingd and painting in the cafe in Krakow.
Our volunteers had many indyvidual tasks but also shared some of them. For example they participated in a meeting with pupils from primary school in Mariówka, presenting their countries and teaching them English. For many of that children it was first meeting with foreigners.
It was very good project. Our volunteer brought a lot of positive energy and new experiences.
We also started new partnership with organisation from France - CEMEA and continued our cooperatoin with ASF from Ukraine. Our cooperation with partner organisation was fruitful.
We got new experiences about new cultures, mostly about France. We decided to continue our cooperation with Ukrainian organisation and we are in the middle in the next project. We involved also new country which is Belgium. New volunteers continue what their antecedents started, but in their own way.
Young people involved in our project know more about France and Ukraine. They were intersted in looking for similarities and differencies in our cultures. In our local society this project promoted diversity of cultures and religions. It was also a step for understanding, that there is a value behind different cultures and it's woth to be open for it.
All volunteers' activities helped us to promote EVS and Erasmus+ Program. Due to sharing their own experiences, our volunteers showed students, parents, teachers that there is many possibilities for young people now and they have chance to use them.
