Project 'Freedom for the third power' is a retrospective look at changes which has been taken place for 25 years in Poland and Lithuania connected with freedom. The title of the project is very symbolic and is due to changes after debates of Round Table in Poland and after recovery of independence in Lithuania. There were two key moments in our common history which started democratic changes in our countries. Thanks to it freedom of word, choices and public initiatives is obvious. Participation of our countries in European Union let introduce similar standards on the level of self-government activity and youth politics. Young peple from Cultural Centre Kadr in Warsaw (Poland) and Youth and Kids Centre in Vilkaviskis (Lithuania)-36 people will take part in our international project. To emphasize intercultural character of the project we chose Olecko-the city on the border of many cultures as the place of our activity. The aim of the meeting is getting by participantants which we will use s competences which extend their social activity, allow to create surrounding reality, to affect its shape. To change attitude from passive to active. To use freedom of taking public initiatives. Our meeting is also a kind of test to understand cultural differences which are among partners taking place in the project and finding common roots. The main topic of the project - Activity of young people for local societies in Poland and Lithuania is the right to choose o necessity - will be developed through the artistic workshop about theatre,, art, photography, dance, film, discussions and simulation games. The whole of project activites will be finished by happening where we will present results of our workshops and discussions. It will be artistic synthesis of the subjects which were touched during discussions and workshops translated into speech of art. We will invite also local people from Olecko to take part in common artistic activites. The result of the project will be competences which we get within international exchange and which we will use in our local environments. We are going to prepare multimedial presentation containing films, photos spreading project ideas during meetings with groups of young people at the same age. Long-term advantages we are going to achieve are preparing new projects by youth animators which will be the answer to needs of local societies.
