The French Nord-Pas de Calais area and Flanders in Belgium cover a relatively small area in the overall euro area, but they have a large concentration of heavy industry. In recent years, to stay competitive, theseindustries have been investing in their mobile and reconfigurable assembly lines with wireless control and operating systems to adapt quickly to the market. The electromagnetic pollution of these wireless devicesshould be quantified to compute to what extend the human body is exposed to radiation.The goal of the WISE project is to reduce the exposure of workers to electromagnetic waves. To this end, the partners want to find out how much exposure there is in working environments before developing toolsto measure the exposure.
